Applications of Math in Mechanical Engineering and Design
Abstract:
Paul Stevenson has over 20 years of experience in design engineering, primarily in the Defense and Aerospace marketplaces. Starting out as a draftsman in the early 80’s, Paul worked his way through college and earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of South Florida in 1995. He became a partner of McCormick Stevenson in 2003, and has helped grow the company to over $1.3M in sales in 2006. The company continues to grow by providing top notch engineering services to clients such as Parker Hannifin, L-3 Communications, ATK Missile Systems, and Sypris Electronics. Paul is active in professional societies such as ASME, PDMA, and PMI, both locally and nationally. He serves on the Exam Review Committee for ASME’s Engineering Management Certification program and supports his local section of ASME, the Florida West Coast section, as Student Design Competition chair. He also supports engineering education through his involvement in the “Corporate Ambassador” program at the USF College of Engineering, and is Chair of the Board of Directors for the Todd Center at Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, a special program targeting high school students interested in Engineering, Pharmacy, or Physical Science careers.
